Fixing the browsing issues in Internet Explorer

Defining the exact problem It is quite essential to define your exact issue before going with any troubleshooting. Get answer of following questions first. 1. Are you not able to browse any Website in all the installed Web browsers? 2. Are you not able to browse only a specific Website? 3. Are you able to browse generally used sites like Google.com or Bing.com? NOTE: Here, we are assuming that user is not able to browse any Website in IE. Fixing the IE first 1. Start Internet Explorer. 2. Go to the Tools > Internet Options and select Advanced tab. 3. Here, we are going to reset the MS IE. All the Browsing History including History, Cookies, Temporary Internet files, and Passwords will be erased. If you are OK with it then click Reset button. 4. Come to the ‘Content’ tab and click ‘Clear SSL State’ button. 5. Click ‘Default’ button in the ‘Privacy’ tab if it is activated. 6. Go to the Security and click ‘Reset all zones to default level’. 7. Click on ‘Apply’ button and then hit OK. Now, test the Web browsing in the IE. If the problem still persists then either take help of Online PC Support or proceed with following steps. System settings 1. Open Control Panel and then launch Date & Time. In Vista & 7, go to Clock, Language and Region to access Date & Time for opening the Date & Time. 2. Verify the time and date with your local region. You can correct them if required. 3. Go to the option named ‘Regional and Language Options’ in XP. 4. Check and correct check your Regional settings. It should have the correct location and language as per your location. Now, check whether you are able to browse the Internet or not. Go to the Start Menu -> All Programs > Accessories. 2. Here, you have to do a right click the Command Prompt and then select the option named ‘Run as Administrator’. If it asks for administrator name and password, then provide the necessary credentials to start Command prompt with the complete rights. 3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll in the Command Prompt and press Enter. 4. Click OK when it asks for confirmation message. 5. Similarly type following commands regsvr32 mshtml.dll regsvr32 shdocvw.dll regsvr32 browseui.dll regsvr32 msjava.dll Try to browse the Websites in IE and if still it occurs, then proceed with next steps. Repairing the Browser The default Web browser for Windows XP is MSIE 6. For Vista & 7, it is IE 8. Please check which MS IE version you are using now. Follow below steps, 1. Go to the Control Panel and open Add/Remove Programs in XP. This option is named as Programs in Windows Vista/7. 2. Check the version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. If it is higher than the above mentioned default versions for your Windows then it is required to uninstall it and then reinstall it. NOTE: All the IE settings, history and favorites will be erased in this process. You can take the backup of favorites, if required. Proceed to the next step when you are OK with it. 3. Select the IE and uninstall it. 4. Restart the computer and check your computer. 5. Check whether you’re able to browse the Website in the default IE version or not. 6. If the problem still persists then you need expert help else you can continue to reinstall the upgraded IE edition. Try to browse the Websites to check the status of browsing issue.
