People who plan to purchase a pre – owned vehicle often consider which source is the best to acquire their car from: private sellers, online auctions or the used car dealers. Undoubtedly, the option to speak face to face with the former owner of the car to get all the relevant information concerning the history of the vehicle: the possible accidents, repairs and the number of spare parts that were used in order to replace worn out ones. Online auctions, in turn, offer the access to the unlimited number of shops all at once, without having to move from your home. Additionally, the auctions that can be found on the Internet come from all over the world, which makes the offers more interesting. In spite of all these advantages, many people still tend to be biased against taking part in used cars auctions. It is because very often such auctions contain words and expressions like e.g. “seized”, “repossessed”, “confiscated” and so on. The potential customers replace those words with the idea that the vehicles are of low quality or trashed. The truth is however, that those people who buy used cars at the dealer’s are by no means safer as it’s not unusual for the dealers to sell the same repossessed vehicles, bought previously on online auctions. Definitely, once you win such an online auction it is worthwile to visit the seller and do some preliminary car inspection to get all the formalities done as it’s good to take a closer look at the vehicle you are about to buy.
