Blouse-Alternate choice for designer attire
When it comes to traditional and sensuous attire, we generally talk of lehengas, sarees and ghagras. What we tend to forget is the most essential piece of clothing that goes with them all – the blouse! Blouses from an essential part of Indo-Western outfits as well, such as skirts and trousers. Today blouses have become a fashion statement and are equally supported by the fashion industry and designers. Do not ignore them. On any particular occasion or party, especially one high on our priority list, the urge is to buy an entirely new wardrobe- whether dictated by necessity or pure fashion. Just a moment! How about reinventing an ensemble that you already own? Blouse being the smallest and least expensive part of an Indian ensemble, but can be made most prominent. It is best piece to experiment with. What with contrasting back in fashion. It is easiest to give an old sari a new lease of life by teaming it with a different blouse. If you want to wear a creation of a particular designer but overlook your desire because of the cost factor involved, here is a choice. Buy a designer blouse and match it with a plain chiffon or crepe sari. You would look as stunning as you would have in a designer sari- may be more! And then, such a blouse would make you look young and hip-isn't that what you want? The blouse today plays a very important role in revamping the look of the age-old outfit called saris. But when the outfit is trendy and modern with embellishment, go for a completely westernized cut. Theses days the young generation is much attracted by the sari, and to a large extent stylised blouses are responsible. The cut and look of the blouse should depend on – the colour of the attire, the occasion it is to be worn at, the age of the person and size of the person wearing it. It is true that not all of us are blessed with curvacious body and desirable height. This should, however, not stop you from achieving that 'killer look'. If you have a body flaw that you would need to cover up, your blouse can make all the difference. Whether it is a lehenga or sari that you want to wear, just get the blouse right to look sensuous- Your right choice of blouse would go a long way in making you look gorgeous. The colour, pattern and cut play a major role. And rather that blindly imitating a model, check out what will suit you. Short Neck- To give the illusion of a longer neck, go for deep 'V' neckline. Also, keep your necklaces long, as some skin would be visible making you look more attractive. If you cover it all up you look more short. Flabby arms-Those with flabby arms should go for longer sleeves. Fabrics with drape- such as crepe, georgette are the most suited. Also, prefer to wear contrasts, be it a dupatta or a sari. This would shift the focus away from your arm. Round tummy- The best advice is to keep things as tonal as possible. Blouses should skim over the tummy and embellishments should be kept at the neckline. Sloping shoulders- Puffed sleeves Puffed sleeves with wide necklines would work well. Shoulder pads might be helpful in such cases. Small bust- Since light colours add weight, use colour contrasts to your advantage. Keep your blouse in a colour taken from the various shades in your sari. Here, boning and padding will be best friends. Heavy bust-Women with heavy busts should go in for intricate detailing on the neckline in order to steer attention away from their heavy bust line. If you are... Broad built- Wear square necklines, deep 'V' or boat cuts and shorter lengths would suit best. Tall-Tall women can wear a 'bandhgala' for a very classy look. Short- For short and broad structures, wear deep necks and shorter lengths and fully embroidered. Can we then say with conviction that – small and subtle as it may seem, the blouse has the power to determine your look? Yes! Because it is sensuous, it is elegant and it certainly is dynamic! http://www.eslarrenterprise.co.in/blog About Author Completed ISC from a reputed English medium school in Kolkata in the year 2002 with 85%+.
