Seville and its influences for Holiday Rentals in Spain

When you are in the process of booking your HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN, take a look at the vibrant city of Seville. This 2,000 year old town is forever young and possesses what has made Spain's culture what it is today. It's here that the first sounds of a lonely guitar enticed the gypsies to whirl and twirl on the dance floor which was to become the flamenco dance. Besides the flamenco dance there are the tapas bars along with the bullfights all of which have greatly influenced the culture.

The Andalucia region of Spain is rich in historical sites and cultural events making it a great place to book your HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN for you and your family. When you enter the numerous ruins, castles and palaces it will be like taking a step back in time making the colourful and turbulent past come alive. The place to visit in Andalucia is its capital city of Seville. This city sits proudly on the banks of the Guadalquivir River and is home to some of the region’s most outstanding architectural and cultural treasures which only go to enhance the rich history this area possesses. We thought fusion was a new word in the culinary circle but here it applies to the fusion of the influence of the Moorish occupation, Jewish immigration and Christian settlements. This in turn gives you an idea of Spain's heritage and how they interact with each other.

The Moorish influence in Seville can be seen in the narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses that have window boxes full of colourful flowers and wrought-iron balconies. As you wonder deeper into this amazing town the twisted paths will take you to some Gothic architecture, quaint squares and Moorish towers. The further you go the more cultural and architectural surprises you will run into including its cathedral that happens to be the largest of its kind built in the Gothic style during medieval times. It was built on top of the former Great Mosque. The only proof of its existence is the Patio of the Orange Trees that sits adjacent to it. The cathedral’s grand size and opulence along with its duplicity in design belies the awe-inspiring grandeur of the place. Next door to the cathedral is a symbol of the Moors rule, the Giralda Tower which today emphasizes the Christians reconquest. The Minaret was originally part of the Great Mosque but today it is the bell tower for the cathedral. Today the cathedral stands proudly as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Seville's treasure has to be the Alcazar which happens to be the oldest palace in all of Europe. Built over a period of time by the Moors this royal complex is made up of several buildings that represent different styles of architecture including Islamic, Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance. The oldest part of this palace is the House of the Governor from the tenth century. It has a beautiful Patio del Yeso which was taken from the Alhambra with its dome richly decorated in tiles. The palace gardens are a great place for a stroll where you can inspect the different landscaping styles while you walk in the footsteps of past leaders.

It’s hard to believe that Seville is 2,000 years old as it remains forever youthful. Spain's influence on its culture started here with the soulful sounds of a lonely guitar while the gypsies danced the flamenco in their colourful costumes, this influence also includes the excellent tapas not to leave out the bullfights. As you wonder through the streets you can't help but being drawn in the atmospheric Spanish bars with all their charm. If you would like to get up close and personal the best way to see this city is on foot. You can venture down the narrow back alleyways that eventually end up at the city's Santa Cruz district. This area comes alive at night when the streets are awash in colour with the bars and restaurants ready for the evenings fair. This part of the city truly exemplifies its flavour, all the people seem to be in no big hurry to get anywhere it is so laid back.

When booking your HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN the climate here is one of Europe's warmest which is great for Seville especially with its passion for music, dance and a culinary experience not to be forgotten. The city of Seville is the place where dreams are made to come true.
