The launch of the HTC Titan has definitely reignited the Windows smartphone segment, which has been looking forward to a leader. However, the presence of a leader alone is not going to be sufficient because there has to be a follower as well. It will be available in the form of the HTC Radar, which was also announced by HTC at the same event. The HTC Radar is not going to be on par with the HTC Titan in terms of features, but it can certainly be a more cheaper version of the Titan.

The HTC Radar can do this because it looks much like a normal phone unlike the HTC Titan, which comes with a massive 4.7 inch display. This is so surreal that only high-end entertainment seekers will be interested in the HTC Titan. However, the HTC Radar is a phone that will be more suited for a wide range of people due to the fact that it is much smaller than the HTC Titan. This is mainly due to the 3.8 inch display that will be providing a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. Even though it does not utilise the Super Clear LCD display unit, it comes with the previous generation Super LCD unit. This is certainly not too bad considering the HTC Radar has a higher pixel density than the HTC Titan, which loses most of its pixel density due to the incredibly large display size. Besides that you may also wish to take a look at HTC Wildfire S for other available deals.

The HTC Radar will be providing all the features that you need in the high-end smartphone – 3.8 inch touch screen display, capacitive technology, accelerometer, proximity sensor and so on. In order to protect the display, the phone will be using the incredibly sturdy gorilla glass display, which is now the favourite of most of the high-end smart phones. As a result, it is almost impossible to create imperfections on the display, which can certainly happen quickly for a touchscreen unit.

The HTC Radar will provide the five megapixel camera, which seems to be the favourite for most of the midrange Windows phones. However, it will come with the 720 p HD video recording option, which is a feature that is on par with the HTC Titan – a much higher model in terms of price and features. The difference between the HTC Titan and the HTC Radar clearly comes about in the processor department where the HTC Radar lags behind the leader in this regard.

It comes only with the single core 1 GHz unit that is powerful, but not powerful enough to match the 1.5 GHz unit present in the HTC Titan. However, we should not forget that the HTC Radar will not be on par with the HTC Titan in terms of price, so it would be daft to expect the same kind of features. In addition to this, the difference between the two processors is extremely low given that they both are the single core units. The HTC Radar is likely to be furnished with more details about its launch in the coming weeks.
