Granada’s Historic Traditions for your Holiday Rentals in Spain

Granada has many opportunities for HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN. It is situated in the eastern section of Andalucia at the end from the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. You will find roughly 240,000 people live there. It's the capital of the province of Granada. The climate of the city is warm close to the seaside area, but it's cooler in the more mountainous parts nearer to Mulhacen, the highest peak of Spain. It was the last Moorish capital on the Iberian Peninsula. Because the section of Granada is mountainous, the old city is formed on the hillsides using its beautiful narrow roads, while the new part of Granada includes plain, busy roads round the Granada's cathedral.

The title of the city might have come from in the Spanish word "granada" meaning "pomegranate", an extremely important fruit from the area, or from the metropolitan area’s Moorish title "Karnattah" or "Gharnatah", which most probably means "the hill of other people". The pomegranate has turned into a heraldic symbol of Granada.

The Moors settled in Granada in the days when it was a little Visigoth town in 711. They built the town and formed the introduction of Granada. During the ninth century the Caliphate of Cordoba fell. Next Granada started to achieve a greater importance. The town experienced its golden age in 1238 once the Nasrid Empire was founded by Mohammed ben Nasar. In 1492, Granada was overthrown by the Catholic monarchs King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella.

Granada is full of its local festivals and traditions. Annually, people in Granada honour the Holy Week that is known as a holiday of great interest for vacationers. You will find also the Festival of the Reconquest, when they commemorate the day when Granada was taken over by the Catholic monarchs, the Festival of Crosses, the Festival of the Virgen de las Angustias with open-air dancing and bullfights, and also the Corpus Cristi Fair, the most important festival in the city. During this festival the standard Andalucian dresses are worn as locals dance and hold bullfights.

For anything you are searching for, it's very easy to find the chance to spend holidays in style in Granada. The town offers us other ways of spending your holidays. You can travel to the gorgeous old town or a number of Granada's wonderful location. As with all of the HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN, there are parks, coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants and shops close by. But what is among the finest reasons for Granada is the fact that because of the mountain tops and climate you'll be able to enjoy any skiing here.
