Roses for Holiday Rentals for all People
Today is the day that you start your search for HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN, and what better place to start than the Spanish tourist resort of Roses? This ancient village is situated on the Costa Brava in the Catalan region of Spain. For a day out shopping, Roses is only thirty kilometres from the French border. To give you a better idea of its location, Roses sits between Cap de Creus and the Montgre Mountain. In the third century BC, the Greeks used this area as a trading centre and named it Rhode. The Romans also controlled this area in the eleventh century and along with the Greeks they left behind numerous remains evidencing their existence here. In today's Roses, you will find a plethora of restaurants, bars and cafes. We know that the Greeks founded Roses or as they called it Rhode in 776 BC. Proof of this lies in the star shaped Citadel or the Ciudadela. In the sixteenth century, reconstruction of the Citadel or fortress was undertaken. Also from the sixteenth century is the Trinitat Castle, which is located in the same area. This old town is a good place for an evening meal as there are a number of fine restaurants and bars in this section of town. While you are out and about, don't forget to stop by the Roses lighthouse with its beautiful landscape. If you feel the need to play in the sand, as most tourists do, venture over to the Platjas de Roses city beach where you will find umbrellas, showers and chairs. There are a number of other beaches to chose from that also have the European Blue Flag award for cleanness, safety and the provision of all necessary facilities. If you take a stroll along the seafront, you will come across a few secluded and apparently untouched coves where you can have a little private time. The Platja de Santa Margarida beach offers a place for children to run and play in the different activities on offer plus this area has a plethora of water sports. For something different and interesting take the children over to the Aqua Brava Water Park and jump on some of the rides for the time of your life. Not far away is the protected natural reserve of Cap de Creus where you can go scuba diving, fishing, sailing or just paddle around. If you are up for it, you can also go water skiing or just take a long, relaxing walk among all of nature’s wonders in this beautiful park. With protected dunes, marshlands and lakes, the Emporada is a great place for the nature lover to spend the day. This area is home to a large number of species of animals that you can observe in their natural habitat along with a plethora of local and migratory birds. It goes without saying that this area is home to a variety of flora and fauna unique to this area. You have everything in one place that a nature lover could ask for. Now that you have spent some time in Roses on your HOLIDAY RENTALS IN SPAIN, make the short journey over to the fantastic city of Figures. This interesting city is home to one of Spain's most famous painters, Salvador Dali. There is a museum located here that was designed and built by the man himself.
