Sunglasses have been used for time immemorial as it brings a sense of mystery to the wearer. They not only give an edge to the wearer but also evoke curiosity factor in the observer instigating him to ponder; who is the hunk behind those designer sunglasses? Actually, it’s the popularity of the shades of the sunglasses that makes them such a style statement.

Thus, why people wear sunglasses?

Earlier if history could be scanner, it could be found that rulers used to wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from glare. Chinese judges used to wear sunglasses to appear absolutely expressionless while passing on a verdict.

Other usages of sunglasses are that it makes a great fashion statement and look cool on the wearer thereby improving the chances to impress the observer.  Famous artists or film stars wear sunglasses to avoid the masses or the always indulging paparazzi.

190 million Americans wear non-prescription sunglasses and 25 million wear clip-on to fit their regular set of eyeglasses. Sunglasses also soothe and comfort tired eyes. Mainly, darker shades glasses also obscure optical disfigurement. 

Thus, sunglasses have many benefits to their credits so these indispensable qualities of them makes people go for sunglasses.
