A blog is a type of website, like a forum or a social book marking site.  A blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Blog is a greatest source to share things on Internet. Some Web hosts have made it even easier by creating an interface where users can simply type a text entry and hit "publish" to publish their blog.

5 Major Advantages of Using a Blog:-

  • Blogs are Search Engine Friendly: This advantage of a blog is one of reason why people love blogs. The posts and pages are automatically linked by logs and that enables search engines spiders to find, crawl and index the blog. With relevant keywords in the blog Title, Meta tags, and the URL pages could have ranking higher in search engines. Meaning that when anyone type the keywords into search engines, the page could be among the first few displayed list.
  • Brand Awareness: The more a customer hears the name of your company the greater the chance of remembering it. It takes, on average, around seven items of direct communication between you and your customers to make a sale. A blog with hundreds of posts gives you the opportunity to mention your company name and ensure that your readers think of you next time they're looking for a particular product or service.
  • Multiple Authors: Not only can one person add content but you can allow access to any number of people so that you have several authors contributing to a topic or a series of topics. It also opens up the possibilities for blogs as tools ideally suited to internal communications within a company.
  • Feedback: Feedback can also be an incredibly useful tool in the product development cycle. You have to realize that your blog’s readers are collectively far more intelligent than you will ever be. You can use this by asking questions of your readership – “If we were to add this to our product, would you pay extra for it?”, “What are the extra features you would like to see in our product?” “What price point/feature mix would work best for our next release?” etc.
  • Business Differentiation: A blog will give you the opportunity to show how your business and services differ from (and are hopefully superior to) those of your competition. Done well, it will set you apart in terms of the benefits you offer. By hosting your own blog, it will be easier to develop and promote your own brand. Even if you are not selling something, hosting your own blog will provide greater individuality than what shared hosting can offer.
