Boca Raton is one of the most prominent cities of Florida which is one of the states in the United States of America and Boca Raton lies in the Palm Beach County, the largest county in the state of Florida. This city with a total population of 86,396 as recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2006 was incorporated in the state of Florida in May, 1925. The name “Boca Raton” is a Spanish name which means “Mouse Mouth” and the place has been named so by the Spanish sailors because the rocks present at the entry of the city gnawed the cables of their shapes in the same manner as a mouse does. Another explanation is that it refers to pirate’s cave though metaphorically and this association of the name with the inlet was manifested for the first time in maps of eighteenth century which talked about an inlet in the Biscayne Bay area of Miami. Boca Raton covers a total area of 29.1 square miles and is a principal city of South Florida having a tropical monsoon climate. As far as the government of Boca Raton is concerned, it has a Council-Manager form of Government.

Boca Raton is also famous for Florida Atlantic University and one of the earliest offices of International Business Machines Corporation popularly known as IBM. It is also important to note that Florida Atlantic University and IBM are one of the topmost employers of the region.
