Samsung is now more than a name to reckon with in the mobile phone industry. Several indicators point to this reality. With Samsung phones proving to be an household name in the UK, there is plenty to look forward to for this premier mobile phone company.

Samsung Climbing to the Top has been fast! The South Korean mobile phone major is going places. Or rather its mobile phones is going places and that too to the entire length and breadth of the planet that we call home. The coming together of technological excellence coupled with an aggressive marketing drive and an unrelenting focus all have put together made Samsung climb up the competition and threaten the top place currently occupied by one of its rivals. It has had a more than a splendid year in 2010. And this positive trend has thankfully continued for it even in 2011 as the first quarter results that have just been out clearly reveal.

To give you an idea about the clout that it hold, the Samsung Galaxy S, the flagship smartphone handset has sold a staggering 10 million units so far. Now, isn't this a truly phenomenal figures that is enough to put to rest even the likes of the Apple iPhone 4.0 Then, its mobile computer tablet device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab notched up a good two million unit sales. The next generation Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is about to be launched.

It is Samsung basically that has caused the maximum damage when it comes to the run away sales of Android phones. The first quarter results also go to further establish its place in the mobile phone industry. Samsung, it is revealed that shipped in the first quarter of 2011 10. 8 million smartphones bringing itself in the fourth position ahead of HTC that had 8.9 million smartphones to show for the period. But more importantly, Samsung Phones registered the maximum growth with a whopping 350 per cent year-on-year growth accomplished by any vendor over its 24 million smartphone device in the first quarter for 2010.

New Smartphones are continuing to come out at an impressive rate! Samsung recently has got out a whole lot of very high profile smartphones including the undoubtedly the star of the lot, the next generation Samsung Galaxy SII. Now, this is an astounding phone device that has got everything from the dual core processor, to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread version of the operating system to the eight mega pixel high definition recording camera.
