Firstly, why do you want to lose weight? Every year more people try, and fail, to lose weight and get fit. Every year people spend a fortune on gimmicky gadgets and pills and still fail to lose weight. Why? Because they are doing it all wrong of course! Fitness should be the first goal of any weight loss plan. And to ensure that you are successful in getting fit, which will mean that you are successful in losing weight, you must learn to enjoy exercise. OK, you can get fit and lose weight by doing exercises that you do not enjoy. You could torture yourself twice a day doing exercises you hate in a gym you detest, just to lose some weight. But will you be happy? No, of course not! The reason why you are overweight and unfit is really simple - you have spent too many years being relatively inactive and eating too much of the wrong food. This is a simple fact that you must accept if you wish to succeed. Another sad truth is that every single person, without any exception, that says that they have tried to lose weight but failed "because nothing works for me!", has simply failed to follow a weight loss plan correctly. Losing weight is simple. So incredibly simple. So simple in fact, that a poor labourer in a developing country can lose weight very quickly, simply by eating all the food they have and working as hard as possible! If you think you have special hormones or genetics then please let me put you straight here - you don't. You are overweight because you eat too much food. Sorry, maybe it hurts, but that is the truth. So, how do we have fun while exercising (and keeping our clothes on). Well, find a sport or hobby that you enjoy. If you do not know what you like, try new things. Aim to try 2 new activities every week. You will find something that you enjoy, and even if you don't, after a few months you will have been out and exercised around 25 times and made some progress anyway. And you will meet a lot of new people. Here are some ideas. First, search for kettlebell classes, boot camps, Pilates, yoga, circuit trianing, karate, judo, kickboxing, mountain biking, walking, dance classes, Zumba and a running club. All of these will provide a great way to get fit and healthy, and help you to lose weight.
