Nokia C6-01 is an Affordable Touchscreen with Symbian^3
The new Nokia C6-01 is the latest touch screen phone that is being launched by Nokia with an aim to fill the gap that now exists between the N series and X series phones. The phone was launched in September and will now be available in the United Kingdom from this month onwards. Even though this phone will not have some of the features of the Nokia N8, it is bound to pull away some of the N series customers to itself as at this price, this phone represents an incredible value for money. The screen in this phone is one of the main reasons why anyone who has the Nokia N8 in his sights would choose this phone over it. The 3.2 inch screen in this phone is not all about size. It features the latest technology called as the ClearBlack display technology that makes black areas of the screen look as they should be even in direct sunlight. This is a technology that is even missing from other high end phones like the Nokia N8. The screen is the AMOLED screen and this is similar to the Nokia N8 in terms of richness in its reproduction of colour. Even the resolution of the display is similar at 360 x 640 pixels. Hence, it is no surprise that both the phones can manage about 16 million colours. The Nokia C6-01 has 340 MB of internal memory and there is a 2 GB card included as standard. It remains to be seen how many of the customers would actually use that card as this phone is a complete entertainment device and having just 2 GB of storage space does not do this phone enough justice. Nokia has recognized and given this phone support for memory cards that go all the way up to 32 GB. The Nokia C6-01 is similar to the Nokia N8 in a number of ways. It is a fact that is once again reinstated in the fact that both these phones feature similar processing units. The Nokia C6-01 employs the same ARM 11 680 MHz processor and 3D Graphics HW accelerator that comes with 256 MB of RAM. The phone will be available in two different colours and this might be the only area where this phone lags behind the Nokia N8, which has five different colour options. WebTV and TV-out are standard features in this phone and they offer brilliant entertainment by letting you watch TV Shows like Nat Geo and so on for free on your mobile phone. The phone runs on the latest Symbian operating system, Symbian 3. Nokia claim that it has over 250 features that are improved over from the previous model. However, the most important feature is that this operating system is being optimized for touch screen usage and straight away one can tell that it is less confusing. The phone has been just released this month and can be bought for just £20 a month on a two year deal. Besides that you may also wish to take a look at Nokia C3 Touch and Type for other available deals. Disclaimer: Article submitters are solely responsible for the content of their articles.
