The new Blackberry Torch 9800 is the latest phone from Research In Motion’s (RIM) Blackberry phones. The phone is the first Blackberry to combine a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard in the same phone. This means that you can enjoy the best of the Blackberry Storm 2, which features only a touch screen and the usual Blackberry phone s that have a full QWERTY keyboard. This is also the first phone to be featuring the latest operating system from Blackberry, the OS 6.

The new operating system offers some much needed freshness and zip to the Blackberry phone. It also adds in some interesting features like multi-tasking and so on. The new operating system also irons out any glicthes and imperfections that were seen in the previous model. The new Blackberry Torch 9800 is heavier than other Blackberry model’s, but when you look at the features that are offered by the phone, you can easily justify the extra bit of weight that you might need to card in your pocket.

The Blackberry Torch 9800 has a 3.2 inch touch screen that can recognize muiltple touch inputs as it is a capacitive screen. The phone packs in a full QWERTY keyboard underneath the screen and this keyboard offers the same legendary quality that is offered by all other Blackberry phones. This means that you can watch a movie on the large screen, pause it and switch over to the mail application and send a mail by inputting the text through the full QWERTY keyboard all at one go. The keys are well-balanced and are given a proper spacing. This lets you type faster than in other Blackberry models.

There are also hardware buttons on the face of the phone, below the touch screen and these allow easy access to the most commonly used functions like making a call and so on. The phone has a 5 megapixel camera with options like image stabilization and video recording. The quality of the pictures and videos are excellent. The video quality is excellent partly because it can record the videos in VGA resolution at 24 frames per second. The presence of a flash makes it easy to take pictures even in total darkness. The phone has a whopping 8 GB of internal storage, which can be increased using memory cards to 32 GB.

The new operating system offers integrated social feeds from your social networking sites and this would be a major attraction to the current generation of mobile phone buyers who look to this aspect more than any others. The OS also features a completely new and revamped WebKit browser that makes web browsing such a fun as the phone offers flash support. The new graphical icons offer a much needed change from the usually boring icons and menu. This is also one of the many features that the new operating system comes with. The phone has already been launched and is available for buying at nearly all major online stores and service providers on a range of great mobile offers.
