The Home of Happiness or ‘happiest place on the earth’ as it may call itself can also be the most harrowing. Or at least Disney world can be a pretty stressful experience if you are ill prepared.
While Disney World may be a magical place, try spending a few days there with a whole screaming family and still hold that sentiment. It goes from being the magical kingdom to the neo-Bedlam.
There is all the wonder of course, miles designed to keep you entertained but there is a downside, and that will generally be due to the temperament of your children.
Yet if done right Disney world provides a very memorable holiday, one that is treasured by children for a great few years after, sometimes even re-enacted with their own offspring. There are many things you can do to ensure that your holiday is as stressless as it can be, rather than an emotionally and physically exhausting ordeal.
Take Breaks
Often under the blistering Florida sun, Disney World is a rather tiring affair. It is vast and takes up a lot of energy in just travelling from one attraction to the next. Then there is the toll of the attractions themselves, stimulating the mind and body, they can be fun, but they also take it out of you.
If you are to see the whole place you would have to be going solid for nearly 7 days, this is a fast way to a hernia. Instead prioritise the things you want to see, and in between take long breaks, relaxing with a cold drink, and taking the time to reapply the sun cream.
Bring Snacks
Whilst taking your break, be sure to replenish the energy, take a bag full of snacks even if you do intend on eating at one of the parks restaurants. Energy levels diminish quickly here and it if you wish to keep your little ones smiling, it is important to keep them sustained.
Plan Days Off
Disney world can be over stimulating, and extended access may leave you dying for a break, in fact you could come back from your holiday wishing for another one. So don’t overdo it, while you may wish to make the most of your Disney ticket, you can do too much, exhausting yourself and turning the park in to a chore rather than a treat. Forcing yourself is never wise
Instead make planes to take a few days off, if you are staying in one of the Disneyworld vacation homes, why not spend a relaxing day there. You can relax by the pool or watch a few films, happy in the knowledge that today you won’t be aching from hiking the whole park.
Then you can return the following day with a replenished desire and with full physical reserves.
Hire a Buggy
Buggies are really invaluable if you have small children. They are expensive to hire but worth every penny. If you have little ones still small enough for a pram then it is well worth shelling out, their little legs will only last so long and they serve as trolleys for the items you may acquire.
