An up and coming track superstar sensation will be competing in three events at the AAU Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia July 31 through August 7 at Norfolk State University.

Makaylah will run in three events: the 400; 800 and the very challenging 1500 meters.

AAU track and field is an outstanding opportunity for athletes to compete around the country against other track and field athletes.

When you think about athletes it has to start somewhere; the love and the passion for athletic competition often begins at an early age.

Makaylah, it would seem, has developed the passion to compete as a track and field athlete and it is important to continue to encourage her to be the best that she can be every day.

The more an athlete competes, the stronger their desire will be for more athletic competition. This is where the love and the passion for your sport begins.

Athletic competition in all sports is serious business. There are many expenses in one’s dream of becoming a successful athlete and it is not cheap to achieve greatness. The cost of travel and equipment alone can be enormous. The overall outcome can be totally rewarding with long lasting benefits to that athlete, their family and extended family and friends.

With strong family support, many athletes will continue to pursue their dreams of athletic success. I believe it is amazing what young people can do when you give them some encouragement and support.

Many athletes who achieve athletic success often achieve academic success which will carry them through life. There is a trade-off to becoming a great athlete and that trade-off is having a strong academic foundation that begins through athletic success.

If you happen to be at Norfolk State University on July 31, go and watch Makaylah compete. Someday she may be competing at the college level and with hard work and determination she may be in the Olympics.

If you go and see her run you can be one of the privileged few to say you remember when you saw her run in the Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia

Makaylah is all over the Internet. She has her own website and she’s on Facebook so if you want more information about her, that’s where I would go to read up on this future track superstar sensation.

I know she would do well at the Junior Olympics because this is her goal and this is her dream.

She will be a success; so whatever you can do to support her efforts, or any type of an investment you can make in her future will go a long way in Makaylah’s success.
