Façade. Who do you make a simple house stand out from the rest of its neighbors? Renovate its face. Make sure that you give it a nice general cleaning. Then, paint the walls and the porch. Replace the doorknob. Don’t forget the lawn. The face of rehab houses will appear sad if the lawn is in bad shape. Make sure that it is well trimmed and if possible, lush green. A new mailbox will definitely help in boosting the curb appeal. Consider refinishing the driveway. Put some potted plants here and there and you’re done with rehabbing the first queen of the house.

Kitchen. if there’s a queen that deserves most of your attention, it has got to be this one. When rehabbing homes, do not fear allotting a significant portion of the repair budget on the kitchen. The kitchen is where you’ll have an opportunity to make the buyer imagine himself living in that property.
Rehab houses that have terrific kitchens sell fast because prospect buyers can imagine themselves preparing meals in that area and spending time with their kids. To renovate the kitchen, be sure to take out old appliances that might scare off buyers. Buy new ones. Make sure that if you won’t replace the existing cabinets, you must at least install new and shiny cabinet handles.

Bathroom. Apart from hosting the “throne,” this queen should be shiny and clean. Make it gleam by rehabbing the tub surround and the floor with new tiles. Don’t forget to renovate or replace that old medicine cabinet. You can search for local thrift shops for antique but elegant medicine cabinet. Or, you can simply make a new one. You must also ensure that faucets, shower handles, shower heads, and other fixtures are sparkling. These are cheap but very significant repairs. Also, make sure that there’s no trace of rust, mold, or mildew in the room. That will certainly turn off prospect buyers.
