Designing print brochures is exciting. You first need a very imaginative approach to the design process then you are on your way to creating a fantastic advertising tool.

Nevertheless, before starting brochure printing, you must first understand why such are a great advertising medium. Brochures as defined by Wikipedia as a type of leaflet. They are commonly found in places that tourists frequently visit. There are racks or stands that may suggest visits to amusement parks and other points of interest.

There are also interpersonal types, which are ones based on other people. Then there are many others types that you can find. For example, in hospitals and health clinics there are types that talk about drugs and health. The two most common styles are single sheet and booklet (folded leaflets) forms.

Brochures are fantastic advertising medium because they increase the visibility and profile of your company. They call the attention of travelers when they first arrive in an airport or seaport. They show images or pictures of the different activities that vacationing families could enjoy. They outline the type of services that you can avail of in a particular health and wellness clinic, or to the menu of services of spa. Whatever type of business you are engaged in you surely need such advertising tool to help you do business.

The effectiveness however, lies on how they are designed. They must be able to capture the imagination and sentiments of your target sector, be it families, honeymooning couples, senior citizens, etc. To achieve this, your output must have a very strong design.

The following tips will give you an idea of how to design them to achieve maximum effect.

Know your desired outcome. With any marketing tool, you must first establish what effect you want to create. Do you want brand recognition? Do you want to bring in more people to your resort? Do you want to promote a healthy way of life? These questions are some basic questions that can guide you as you start conceptualizing.

Know your distribution scheme. Would you leave it in a rack in a travel agency? An airport perhaps? A clinic lobby? Find out which design and template works best. Do you want to hand them out at every opportunity like public gatherings such as parades? In public places like malls? Alternatively, do you want to send them as an insert?

All of these things have bearing on your objective and purpose. Just keep in mind that they must be able to work with your other marketing materials such as your stickers or flyers. They must be able to support each other to achieve their intended impact on your target market.
