This is one of the few venues in London which possesses a historical development period. It is located in an area which was poorly during the World War II. It has been designated as a site of special architectural depiction for its cohesion, scale and the ambition of the project.

The credit of the Brutalist style design of the center goes to Chamberlin, Powell and Bon.It has a lot of entrances in its complex multi level layout. There is a lake outside the focal point of the Barbican Center. The fly tower of the theater has been articulated into a spectacular high level conservatory as it is surrounded by the glass.

Other features
The theater was built in order to be the home for the Royal Shakespeare Company. It was also involved in the design but left in 2002 in the aftermath of the poor season as Adrian Noble, the artistic director at that time had plans to enhance the touring performance of the company.
The leading attraction of the Barbican Center is the art as well as conference center which is the largest and unique in the entire Europe.
