Importance of a Corporate Golf Event

Corporate Golf Events are a fabulous way to give employees and staff a fun day out and a needed break from work. The benefits are quite obvious even if some of the staff members are not golfers as they can have lots of fun trying to play moreover it can be a great bonding day out for the entire staff. Corporate golf events can not only be a great day out for the staff, they can also be a great way to generate new business by inviting customers and potential customers to come and join the staff members on the golf course.

Not only do they hopefully enjoy themselves through the day but they also will (if all goes well) bond with the staff, meaning that they are much more likely to put their business to the company hosting the corporate golf event and the staff that work there.

So when organising a Corporate golf event, what should be done and what should be avoided at all costs? This needs to be thought through incredibly carefully and organised right down to the last details as there will be lots of potential customers and existing customers at the event. A good corporate golf event will eventually return the company some good new business and keep existing business. A bad corporate golf event may cause existing customers to want to see what the other businesses are offering and will most likely not secure any new business at all. So who ever is in charge needs to be an expert in organisation and planning.

With the United Kingdom not being the best place in the world for sunny weather it would be advisable to plan the corporate golf event day in the summer months, giving a much better chance of having a good day out. Obviously rain is out of the control but needless to say it is a much better day if all the customers, potential customers and staff member have spent eight hours in the sunshine than in torrential rain fall.

Another good base to cover is to make sure that the catering i.e. the food and drinks for the entire day have been covered effectively. This means that at the start of the day, there needs to be coffee, tea and orange juice plentiful available to all. Also it would be a good idea to make sure that there is some breakfast available to staff and customers, after all people are generally much more relaxed and willing to have fun on a full stomach than on an empty one.

Finally the main point to keep in mind for the day is to make sure that it is fun for everyone attending. If it is genuinely a fun day out then everyone will leave happy. It is extremely hard to fake a fun day, so the general advice is find the balance between good organising of the golf day and also include some good competitions to give corporate golf events some excitement and a purpose.
