It is world renowned and is considered by many to be the standard against which all other cuisines are measured and this can be intimidating for beginners and experimental chefs. The Art Farm has made it fun and easy with a program that allows you to explore a wide variety of regional foods and recreate them in an encouraging and inspiring environment. This program is open to chefs, cooks and food lovers of all ages and experience levels to join us in: - celebrating food, wine and great company. - visiting famous vineyards, restaurants and medieval market towns. - experiencing traditional regional recipes and recreating them at The Art Farm. - creating vibrant and delicious dishes from seasonal foods. - enjoying all the fun of The Art Farm. REPLICATE TRADITIONAL FRENCH RECIPES This program includes visits to local and Michelin rated restaurants, well-known local wines producers and characteristic French markets collecting ideas and ingredients along the way. French cuisine has distinctive regional flavors, with the produce, climate and traditional way of life of each region influencing the dishes featured on menus across the country. During the program you will travel through the French countryside visiting awarding winning regional restaurants and returning to The Art Farm to recreate these specialty dishes to get a feel for the variety of cooking styles and flavors. Different regions of France are famous for unique and special foods that come from that area only, and for regional styles of cooking. Regional recipes are often passed down from one generation on family stoves and in the kitchens of inns and restaurants throughout the provinces. Generally tourist sample these highly prized ingredients and distinctive styles of regional cuisines in Paris, which, like any other cosmopolitan city, offers a wide variety of foods. However, the prices of regional dishes are much higher in Paris than in the provinces and missing that authentic, romantic flare. This program gives you an opportunity like no other to fully experience these famous foods in their original locations. Not only will you sample all of these recipes, you will also learn how to recreate them and experiment with regional and seasonal ingredients in a relaxed and exciting atmosphere where food and fun take priority. WINE TOURS It is the dream of many to roam the French countryside visiting the world famous vineyards, tasting wines and relaxing in the sun. The creative cooking program is the perfect opportunity to experience all of this, stress free. Taking you on regular tours to these amazing locations. Visiting AOC award winning vineyards, local caves and also learning to make your own wine at The Art Farm. Course includes tours to the following Rhone Valley locations: - Chateauneuf-du-Pape - Hermitage - Saint Joseph - and other regions selected by the group WILD FOOD The cooking program is in August, the finest time of year, the peak of summer and everything is in bloom. Typical French foods rely heavily on regional products. Fresh apples, berries, haricot verts, leeks, mushrooms, and various squash and stone fruits are among the most commonly used produce. During your stay you will also have the opportunity to make jams, syrups, wines and juices from all of the wonderful fruits and nuts growing around The Art Farm. With berry bushes lining the street, nuts filling the forest floors and local markets full of French delicacies, the location is a food makers dream. Course includes trips to the following locations: - French market tours including the famous Vals Le Bain night market. - All Organic local market. - Various medieval market towns FUN IN THE KITCHEN We’ve taken the stress out of the kitchen, no head chef shouting orders in your face, no sterile stainless steel surroundings and no creative restrictions. Just you and your imagination in the South of France. During your experience you will also have the opportunity to take on a key role in the kitchen, preparing meals for guests and visitors (between 10 – 20 people each meal). Working together as a team to reproduce the recipes you discover on your adventures. ART FARM EXPERIENCE With ingredients from the local area and total freedom to experiment with flavor and presentation to make meal times fun and exciting. Everything is art at The Art Farm, even food. All of our programs are very unique in that you will have total freedom of creative expression, the people and the location are highly inspirational and your skill will increase rapidly in many areas during your stay. During the one month program you will have the opportunity to stay onsite at the Art Farm in our dorm room accommodation. You will also be able to get involved in any other Art Farm projects or celebrations that are happening, with regular music and art session and parties it will be an exciting time to join us. It will be an amazing time to visit the art farm with people coming together from all over the world to delve into our many creative projects, learn on location and enjoy a whole lot of fun.
